Nadia’s family loves travelling and cycling. “Last summer my husband and I finally bought a motorhome. We went to France and we also spent the winter under the Spanish sun.” During her travels, she photographs nature and remarkable buildings. She gets a lot of comments on the photos she posts on Instagram. “They inspire people to discover new places.”

Nadia has worked at Mediabrands for thirty years and in that time, she has seen many colleagues come and go. Yet she feels that Mediabrands has always remained a family business. “When I joined in 1991, there were 15 of us. Today, there’s 180 and only three remain from the early days, including myself.”

Mightily proud of my achievements after 30 years at Mediabrands.

Nadia is very grateful that she had the opportunity to work her way up from secretary to supervisor. “Mediabrands has always believed in me. That feels good. In the beginning I knew nothing. I had just turned nineteen and fresh out of school, I found myself working in the media world. But something was brewing back then: commercial television had just been launched, the advertising industry was booming and there were lots of parties. It opened up a whole new world to me.”

Presentations are Nadia’s Achilles’ heel; she hopes to never give them again. “I did it once and was so nervous and stressed that I got sick. Horrible! No thanks, I prefer a night out with friends.” She loves tidying up the house and cooking for friends. “I love hosting; it takes all my worries away.” Even outside the kitchen, Nadia has a penchant for home-made things. With just a few materials and her glue gun, she always manages to whip up some nice decorative piece. “Four years ago, I started to sew clothes like my grandmother used to do. I love to mix and match clothes. When friends go shopping, they always ask me to go along to advise them. I really enjoy those shopping afternoons.”
