“Do you know what superpower I would like to have? The ability to transport myself by snapping my fingers”, says Client Service Director, Aline Da Silva Santos. Teleportation would allow her to discover the world quickly and spend time with her loved ones who are far away.
Aline had two children in quick succession, barely fifteen months apart, and started working at UM after giving birth to her first child. “A new position combined with taking care of two small children has been quite a crazy ride, but also the most thrilling one of my life.” she says. She points out that it’s very important to her to enjoy life to the fullest.
Aline acts as a partner to Mediabrands’ clients. “I enjoy being a business partner for my clients, understanding their challenges and actively participating in their successes. I write their media strategy, advise them on which media to select to convey their messages in the most effective and impactful way.” The dynamic world of advertising is Aline’s biotope: fast-changing, creative and rational, all at the same time.
What Aline likes about working at Mediabrands is her colleagues. “We come from different cultures and not all of us speak the same language. Yet it clicks.” Instead of naming an object that describes her, she asked her colleagues to do so: a bottle of perfume. “Adjusting to moods with the ability to calm or stimulate. Pleasant, solid on the outside and yet refined.”

Aline is making plans for new ways to fill her free time. “Maybe I’ll try kickboxing. I need something to let off some steam. The precision combined with the physical effort appeals to me.” She turns to power songs for energy. Her playlist is eclectic but will always include songs by the Red Hot Chili Peppers and The Fugees. “For the moment, I get the biggest kick out of ‘Under Pressure’ by David Bowie. The version in which his bassist Gail Ann Dorsey sings along is phenomenal.”
